Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander had two goals and one assist as the team punched its ticket to the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 4-2 road victory over the Ottawa Senators. The Swedish star notched a power-play assist on an Auston Matthews goal in the first period and then scored once in both the second and third periods, potting his second goal of the night in an empty-net situation. Nylander, who turned 29 on Thursday, became the first Maple Leafs player with three points in a series-clinching game since Wendel Clark in Game 7 of the 1994 Conference Semifinals. He has been in good form in the postseason, notching a team-high nine points (three goals, six assists) in six games, but will now face a much tougher challenge in a matchup against the Florida Panthers.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander finished with two assists as the team suffered a 4-3 overtime loss on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators. Nylander's efforts helped John Tavares and Oliver Ekman-Larsson score, with the latter extending the game with a goal 5:29 before the end of regulation. Ottawa has had a tough time against Nylander throughout the series, as the Swedish star has posted at least one point in all four games, tallying one goal and five assists with 12 shots. He has bagged three of his six points on the power play. Nylander and the Maple Leafs will get their next chance to eliminate the Senators on Tuesday night on home ice.

Toronto Maple Leafs right wing William Nylander tallied four points during his victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. In the opening frame, Nylander would tally the primary assist on John Tavares' goal and find the back of the net himself, on the power play. In the second, Nylander would tack on the secondary assist on Bobby McMann's 20th goal of the season and score his second goal of the evening as well, this time during 5-on-5 play. He logged four total shots on goal and added a hit in this contest. Since the start of March (12 games), Nylander has scored six goals and added 12 points. He has only been held off the scoresheet twice over this span and has posted five multi-point showings. He remains a must-start forward heading into his next matchup on Thursday evening against the San Jose Sharks.

Toronto Maple Leafs right wing William Nylander tallied three points during their victory over the Calgary Flames on Monday evening. Nylander would tally all of his points in the second frame. He opened the scoring in the period by finding the back of the net on the power play. Later in the frame, Nylander would tally two assists, both on Auston Matthews' power-play goals. This outing extended Nylander's point streak to nine games. During this impressive stretch, Nylander has scored five goals and added 13 helpers. Nylander has tallied seven of his points during this stretch on the power play and logged 30 shots on goal. Through 67 games this season, the 28-year-old has found the back of the net 38 times with 71 total points. He will look to extend this point streak to 10 games on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche.
