Ezekiel Elliott Willing To Take Pay Cut To Stay With Cowboys
2 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott wrapped up his 2022 season with a playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. Elliott is now scheduled to make $10.9 million in the 2023 season. He averaged a career-low 3.8 yards per carry and finished with just 876 rushing yards despite appearing in 15 games in 2022. Elliott could be a cut candidate in the offseason, although he mentioned on Monday that he loves playing for Dallas and would be willing to take a pay cut to stay in town moving forward. The Cowboys could be open to discussing a restructured contract considering that Tony Pollard is an unrestricted free-agent who they would like to bring back. Even if Elliott stays with the Cowboys on a reworked deal, expect the team to either bring back Pollard or bring in another back to split carries.
