Tight end Rob Gronkowski is a future Hall of Famer and one of the coolest guys in the history of the NFL.
However, the star tight end has retired twice in his career. The first time was after the 2018 season, but he returned a year later when Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played two years with the team.
The second time was after the 2021 season. Many thought Gronkowski would return during the 2022 season, but that didn’t happen. However, the star tight end could pull a Michael Jordan and come out of retirement for a second time.

Is Rob Gronkowski Returning From Retirement?
While he was retired, no one expected Gronkowski to fall off the NFL landscape map. Reportedly he called the Buccaneers at Thanksgiving to tell them he was bored and wanted to return to the NFL. While that didn’t happen, the star tight end said he could return next year.
If he comes out of retirement and returns to the NFL, where will Gronkowski play in 2023?
Where Could Rob Gronkowski Sign?
Despite a long history of injuries, the star tight end is still an elite player at soon-to-be 34 years old. Some have labeled Gronkowski as too old to play anymore. However, Travis Kelce is only 144 days younger and had a career year this season.
The former Arizona star tight end was productive in his two years with the Buccaneers, totaling 100 receptions for 1,425 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 28 games. Gronkowski is not at the same level of an athletic freak that he was earlier in his career. Yet, he is still a top-10 tight end in the NFL and a difference-maker for any offense.
Throughout his career, Gronkowski has only caught passes from Brady. The future Hall of Fame quarterback will hit the free agent market in March, so potential teams better be ready to offer Gronkowski a contract too. However, could the star tight end decide to catch passes from someone other than Brady?
Gronkowski went on the New Heights Show with the Kelce brothers a few days ago. The star tight end talked about how he almost joined the Buffalo Bills this past offseason after Brady announced his retirement.
While Gronkowski and Brady are really close friends, no one should be surprised if the star tight end joins his hometown team this offseason.
