Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was a consensus first-round fantasy pick heading into the 2022 NFL season.
Adams was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the Raiders in March of 2022 for a first and a second-round pick in the NFL draft, allowing him to reunite with Derek Carr, his college quarterback.
The 30-year-old star receiver did not miss a beat with his new team, posting his typical elite stats for Las Vegas. On the heels of yet another excellent fantasy campaign, should Adams be considered as a potential first-overall selection in 2023 fantasy football? Let's take a look and find out.

How Did Davante Adams Perform in Fantasy Football This Season?
Once upon a time, fantasy managers were cautioned to avoid wide receivers who had changed teams in the previous offseason. The recent success of Adams, Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, and DeAndre Hopkins has served to eliminate those concerns.
Adams instantly stepped in as the WR1 in Las Vegas, rendering 2021 surprise PPR star Hunter Renfrow mostly obsolete and allowing the team to trade former third-round pick Bryan Edwards to the Falcons. Adams finished the 2022 season with the third-most PPR points, behind only Justin Jefferson and Hill.

He wrapped his 2022 campaign with 100 catches on 180 targets, 1,516 yards, and an NFL-leading 14 receiving touchdowns while appearing in all 17 of his team's games.

Is Davante Adams The No. 1 Pick For 2023 Fantasy Football?
With the 2022 fantasy season now in the rearview mirror, it is time to start looking ahead to 2023 fantasy drafts. At this early point in the year, it is too early to declare a clear-cut No. 1 overall pick.
Davante Adams isn't getting the buzz that Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase do, but he is as consistent as they come and showed that he has a top three upside in 2023.
The main concern here is that Adams will be catching passes from a new quarterback in 2023 as the Raiders are expected to move on from Carr in the offseason. Adams will remain in town as he told reporters that he has always dreamed of playing for the Raiders. While the QB switch won't force him out of town, it could still affect him either positively or negatively, depending on who the team brings in to replace Carr.

The Raiders have already been a rumored destination for Tom Brady and they will surely be linked to several other big-name signal-callers changing cities throughout the offseason. For now, it is too early to declare him the No. 1 overall pick for 2023 but he certainly could be in the conversation if Las Vegas ends up upgrading the QB position this offseason. Stay tuned as this will be an interesting offseason in Las Vegas.
