The New York Jets got out to a 6-3 start before the team's Week 10 bye, but Robert Saleh's group dropped seven of the last eight games to finish the season with a 7-10 record. Despite the rough finish, New York won more games in 2022 than in the 2020 and 2021 seasons combined.
Needless to say, they still have needs on the roster, and a big decision will have to be made surrounding their 23-year-old quarterback, Zach Wilson.
New York will be selecting 13th overall, just a year removed from selecting Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Jermaine Johnson in the first round. It's also worth noting they selected potential breakout star running back Breece Hall with their first selection in the second round.

How Did The Jets Perform in 2022?
Again, New York looked to be playoff bound in the middle of the season, as a combination of Joe Flacco, Zach Wilson, and Mike White found a way to win six of their first nine games. However, Wilson mightily struggled when he returned as the starter, and Mike White wasn't much better when he returned from injury.
Before Breece Hall suffered a torn ACL, he rushed 80 times for 463 yards and three rushing touchdowns. In the receiving game, he caught 19 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. He looked to be an early favorite for offensive rookie of the year, but his season ultimately ended after eight games.
Garrett Wilson became the sixth rookie wide receiver to total at least 1,000 receiving yards, joining Chris Olave, Jaylen Waddle, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and A.J. Brown. Needless to say, he's in good company. However, Elijah Moore vastly underperformed, catching just 37 passes for 446 yards and one touchdown.
The defense broke out in a major way, finishing as the No. 3 passing defense, No. 4 total defense, and No. 4 defense in points per game allowed. Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and cornerback Sauce Gardner were selected as First-Team All-Pros.
Ultimately, the disappointing end to the season is almost unanimously attributed to the play of the quarterback position, as most of the other position groups were at least solid this season.
What Needs Does New York Face?
The Jets have fired offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, but it remains to be seen whether the team will continue to give Zach Wilson more time to prove he can be the franchise quarterback New York needs. Whether the Jets get in the Tom Brady, Derek Carr, or Tom Brady sweepstakes or try to make a move for a rookie quarterback, most would agree they are a good signal-caller away from being a true playoff team.
Beyond quarterback, any NFL team can benefit from continuing to beef up the offensive line, and former first-round pick Mekhi Becton hasn't been able to stay on the field since his 2020 rookie season. The safety position can also benefit from upgrades for Gang Green.
The team is complete as a whole so there aren't any more glaring and obvious needs when it comes to their first-team unit, but quarterback and offensive line are obviously two of the toughest spots to fill.
What Prospects Could New York Target?
Since New York doesn't pick until No. 13 overall, there's a very low chance Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, or even Will Levis will be available. Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson is often projected to go around that spot in the draft, but he's probably more of a long-term project rather than a quarterback who can play right away.
Obviously, New York has the option of trying to move up in the draft for one of the top-three quarterbacks, but we're far too early in the process to know if that's a real possibility. If the Jets stay at pick 13, offensive tackles Broderick Jones, Paris Johnson, or Peter Skoronski make sense.
By the time the draft rolls around, we'll know whether or not the Jets brought in a veteran quarterback to be their starter, so there will be more clarity around their potential draft strategy.
