Skylar Thompson Can't Complete Comeback In Buffalo
2 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson couldn't quite seal a miraculous comeback during Sunday's playoff game against the Buffalo Bills. Down 17-0 in the first quarter, Miami came back and even took the lead at one point. However, it slipped away and the Dolphins ultimately lost to the Bills, 34-31. Thompson was thrust into action with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) ruled out and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) not quite 100 percent. The rookie completed 18 of 45 passes (40 percent) for 220 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. This is far from a great stat line, but Thompson does deserve credit for keeping the No. 7-seeded Dolphins competitive with the Bills until the final minute. The seventh-round pick seems to have proven that he can be a solid backup in the NFL, and he'll likely fill such a role behind Tua Tagovailoa in 2023.
