Ravens Still Hope To Retain Lamar Jackson Long-Term
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (knee) has not played since Week 14 and has already been ruled out for Sunday's Wild-Card matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Although it seems unlikely that Jackson will see the field again this season, the Ravens reportedly still view the 26-year-old as their franchise signal-caller and intend to negotiate a long-term deal with him this offseason. If the two sides are unable to agree on a contract, Baltimore would be expected to franchise tag Jackson next season. His value to the team is clear as Jackson was voted as the league's MVP in 2019 and holds a 45-16 regular season record as a starter.
