Deebo Samuel Must Break Off Big Play To Be Value
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel faces a Seahawks defense that does a good job of slowing down fantasy wide receivers in the wild-card round of the playoffs. The Seahawks defense allowed the second-fewest yards to the position during the regular season. However, Samuel's rushing ability and his role in the screen game give the 26-year-old added value compared to other receivers. Seattle has one of the worst rushing defenses in the league and allows more passing yards to running backs than most teams. In his matchup against the Seahawks in Week 2, Samuel caught five passes for 44 yards and gained 53 yards on four rushes -- Samuel missed the 49ers' Week 15 game against Seattle with knee and ankle injuries. Since the 49ers traded for running back Christian McCaffrey, Samuel's average rushing volume declined by about one carry per game.
