Is Tyler Boyd Healthy or Injured? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Tyler Boyd - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The defending AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals are hosting a playoff game this Sunday night. Will all of their receiving corps be intact?

Cincinnati’s pass catchers have been banged-up a lot during the second half of the season, including No. 3 WR Tyler Boyd. He has been battling a finger injury that happened before Christmas and has flared up on him a couple times. Boyd has not done much damage for fantasy footballers over the last couple months. He has scored just two touchdowns and has no efforts of 65 receiving yards or more over his last nine games, although he was screwed out of a TD when Cincy's game against Buffalo was cancelled.

In playoff DFS contests and leagues Boyd might be a low-price option that fantasy managers might consider heading into the weekend, though. So will Boyd be ready to play this weekend in Cincinnati’s pivotal playoff contest against the Baltimore Ravens? Here is the latest:

Is Tyler Boyd Healthy or Injured?

As of the writing of this article, it seems like it is all systems go for Boyd for Sunday night’s Wild Card round game. He emerged from his Week 17 game against the same Baltimore team seemingly unscathed. He caught five passes for 51 yards and was targeted seven times by QB Joe Burrow in Cincinnati’s victory, and there was no talk of his finger limiting him or keeping him off the field afterward.

Boyd is currently not listed on the injury report due to his finger, and he was not last week heading into the regular-season finale. His finger has acted up on him, however, so it is something to monitor in the coming days. Catching one pass the wrong way in practice could aggravate the injury and make Boyd more of a question mark, but as of right now he appears to be on track to being healthy enough to play.

Boyd’s fantasy value is stunted because Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins get more opportunities in the passing attack than he does. He has not been targeted more seven times in a game since before Halloween, and I would not imagine for this target total to go any higher this weekend. If you pick up and play Boyd in a fantasy playoff pool of any kind, just know that 60 yards and a touchdown is probably his ceiling, but at least it looks like he will definitely play.
