Although traditional fantasy leagues have come to an end, there are fantasy playoff leagues and DFS contests that will continue to be affected by injuries. Moving forward, we will only cover players on teams in the NFL playoffs in these injury articles. We have the latest news on banged-up players with fantasy significance and their early status heading into the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs as of Monday, January 9th, 2023. This article focuses only on players who suffered injuries on Sunday of Week 18 games.
Tyreek Hill, Mike Williams, Raheem Mostert, Russell Gage, and Gus Edwards picked up bumps and bruises in Week 18. We can't know for sure how these injuries will progress before game time in the first round of the playoffs, but it's never too early to at least take a look at the group of key guys to prepare for the upcoming DFS slates.

Tyreek Hill Injury Update
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (ankle) returned to Sunday's game against the New York Jets. He briefly exited and was listed as questionable, but eventually found his way back to the field. Hill finished with just two catches for 23 yards on five targets, but the Dolphins won the game, earning a trip to the playoff against the Buffalo Bills.
Since Hill returned, we can safely assume he's good to go for that contest. It remains to be seen who will start for Miami at quarterback, though.
Mike Williams Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (back) suffered a back injury in the Week 18 loss to the Denver Broncos and was seen limping out of the locker room after the game, barely able to put any weight on his left side. X-rays at the stadium came back negative, but his lower-back injury will be further evaluated on Monday. Head coach Brandon Staley made the questionable decision to play his starters on Sunday in a meaningless game -- the Chargers had already locked up the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Although his X-rays were negative, it doesn't mean that Williams will be ready to play in the wild-card round this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which would be a big loss for the offense. If Big Mike is unavailable, Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter will have bigger roles alongside target hog Keenan Allen.
Raheem Mostert Injury Update
Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert suffered a broken thumb in the win over the New York Jets in Week 18. Since Miami clinched a playoff berth by way of a win and Patriots' loss, his status for the Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills is in jeopardy.
However, running backs have played with broken fingers before, so DFSers should monitor his status up to game day on Sunday. His pass-catching upside and ball security could be affected, but his speed and touchdown upside will likely remain the same if he can play. If he can't play Jeff Wilson Jr. should see a healthy workload as the clear-cut RB1
Russell Gage Injury Update
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage (back) caught three of his six targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18. However, he landed hard on his back on the play that he scored a touchdown, so his status for the wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend could be in question.
It's tough to know if Gage could've returned to action or if Tampa Bay simply held him out as a precaution in a meaningless game for postseason standings. Gage finishes his 2022 campaign with 51 receptions for 426 yards and five touchdowns. DFS gamers will have to stay posted for his latest injury updates.
Gus Edwards Injury Update
Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (head) was ruled out of the Week 18 game against the Cincinnati Bengals early. He finished the day with four rushes for 16 yards.
It's unclear whether or not he could play against the Bengals in the Wild Card Round just yet, but if he's out J.K. Dobbins would likely be the primary back for Baltimore, with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill mixing in.
