Is Daniel Jones Playing In Week 18?
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones isn't battling an injury this week. However, the Giants have little incentive to win their regular-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles, as the G-Men are already locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC for the playoffs.
As a result, New York is expected to rest many key players in Week 18, including Jones. They called practice squad quarterback Davis Webb up to the main roster ahead of Sunday's game with the Eagles. ESPN's Adam Schefter that Webb will indeed get the start against Philadelphia in Week 18 with Jones being rested for the playoffs.
Should I Pick Up and Start Davis Webb In Week 18?
A third-round pick by the New York Giants in 2017, Webb has never attempted a pass in the NFL. After spending his rookie contract on the Giants' bench, he spent last season with the Buffalo Bills. Webb returned to the G-Men in 2022 and has spent the majority of the year on the team's practice squad.
It will be a difficult spot for Webb's first career start. He'll be facing a rugged and highly motivated Philadelphia Eagles defense with many of New York's regular starters resting on the sidelines. Webb is not a viable fantasy option in Week 18.
