Sean McVay's Future With Rams In Limbo
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is expected to "take some time after Sunday's regular-season finale to determine whether he will return in 2023," sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. He has reportedly gone back and forth and needs time to reflect on the big decision after the season ends. As Schefter notes, it has been a hectic 12 months for McVay, who has won a Super Bowl, been courted to work in television, got married, watched his wife's home country of Ukraine get invaded, and lost his grandfather during that span. All the while, the Rams massively underperformed this season, going 5-11 while losing Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald to injuries. Needless to say, 2022 was a massive disappointment for the reigning Super Bowl champs. With that said, if McVay does step away, Los Angeles would likely become one of the most intriguing destinations for prospective hires. The team will likely have to add a new offensive coordinator, too; Liam Coen, who currently fills that role, is expected to join the coaching staff at the University of Kentucky.
