Raheem Mostert Poised For Big Volume Again In Week 18
2 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert is gearing up for a big Week 18 matchup against the New York Jets. After a strong start, Miami has stumbled and now needs a win (plus help from other AFC teams) to secure a playoff berth. However, a glaring obstacle stands in their way: Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) are both sidelined this week. That means rookie Skylar Thompson will draw the start at quarterback. This may be unfavorable for the Dolphins, but it likely elevates Mostert's fantasy stock heading into the final week of the regular season. With Miami playing Bridgewater and Thompson last week, Mostert produced an impressive stat line of 29 rushing yards, eight receptions, 62 receiving yards, and one touchdown. If the Dolphins remain conservative and don't task Thompson with chucking the ball downfield too often, we could see a heavy dose of checkdowns and short passes to Mostert. He is a fringe top-24 running back in fantasy football this week, with teammate Jeff Wilson Jr. likely serving as the only legitimate obstacle in his way.
