Is Jaylen Waddle Hurt Or Healthy?
It has been a successful year for Miami's second-year wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. He has reeled in 70 catches for 1,312 receiving yards and eight TDs this season.
While his production has been rock solid, Waddle has battled numerous nagging injuries throughout the season. He is currently nursing a shoulder issue. The Alabama product has been limited in both Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions this week. He is currently listed as questionable for Week 18's matchup against the New York Jets.
What's The Fantasy Football Outlook For Jaylen Waddle In Week 18?
While Waddle's limitations in multiple practice sessions are certainly concerning, the smart money is on him suiting up for Miami's regular-season finale against the Jets. The Dolphins are fighting to make the playoffs and need a win plus a New England Patriots loss to sneak in the back door for the postseason.
In addition to his ailing shoulder, Waddle is also dealing with an uncertain quarterback situation, as Tua Tagovailoa remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and Teddy Bridgewater is trying to recover from a dislocated pinkie finger on his throwing hand. If Teddy B. is unable to suit up, rookie Skylar Thompson would make his second career start in a must-win game with Tagovailoa unlikely to play.
With the shoulder issue and uncertainty at the QB position - as well as a brutally-tough matchup against a prickly Jets defense - Waddle's fantasy managers should keep their expectations in check for this one.
