Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had a breakout 2022 season. The superstar quarterback is the QB3 for the year, averaging 26.4 fantasy points per game.
However, he has missed the past two games with an injury to his throwing shoulder. Before getting hurt, Hurts was the QB1.
With the superstar quarterback out of the lineup, Gardner Minshew has started the past two games for the Eagles.

Is Jalen Hurts Healthy Or Injured?
After missing the past two weeks, Hurts appears on track to play in Week 18 against the New York Giants.
Philadelphia is in a must-win game on Sunday. With a win over New York, Philadelphia will secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the first-round bye, and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Eagles are only in this situation after losing the past two games with Minshew under center.
While Hurts appears on track to play this week, should fantasy players turn to Minshew if the superstar misses his third straight game?
Should I Start Gardner Minshew If Jalen Hurts Is Out?
In his first start this year, Minshew played well. He had 355 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and 22.7 fantasy points in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran also had a rushing touchdown in the game.
However, he struggled last week against the New Orleans Saints. Minshew completed only 56.3% of his pass attempts against the Saints, throwing one touchdown, and an interception in the game. Unfortunately, the veteran scored only 13 points last week.
Instead of starting Minshew this week, fantasy players should add and start Jarrett Stidham. The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback is available in over 99% of ESPN leagues.
Last week Stidham made his first start of the year. Despite facing an excellent San Francisco 49ers defense, the veteran quarterback had 365 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and 26 fantasy points. Furthermore, he and Patrick Mahomes are the only two quarterbacks with three or more passing touchdowns against the 49ers this season.
Meanwhile, Stidham faces the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday. The AFC West division leaders have surrendered 19.9 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, one of the highest averages in the NFL. Furthermore, the Chiefs have given up two or more passing touchdowns in 75% of their games this year.
