DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 1/4/23 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 1/4/23. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

We have nine more games on a busy Wednesday night. Get used to more of this with college football essentially done for the season and the NFL winding down. We tip at 6:30 again with Auburn in Athens to face Georgia and Villanova heading down to D.C. to take on Georgetown.

7 pm brings us a lot of action with A&M heading to Gainesville to take on Florida, Penn State heading over to Ann Arbor, and Duke heading further down Tobacco Road to Raleigh to take on the Pack. We also have the Wreck hosting Miami in Atlanta and Iowa State heading down to Norman to take on the Sooners. We close this out with Missouri in Fayetteville to take on the Hogs and UConn heading down to Providence to take on a dangerous Friars team. This is going to be a good one!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/4/23, starting at 6:30 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Jalen Pickett, Penn State ($9,400)

Pickett has the highest ceiling on the slate and might also have the highest floor. The numbers agree that he does. Pickett has only been under 34 DraftKings points twice this season. Both of those were in blowout wins for the Nittany Lions. This team isn't blowing out Michigan, so it feels like another 35-point floor for Pickett.

Kobe Brown, Missouri ($8,100)

This is a tougher matchup for Missouri, but so were Illinois and Kentucky. In those two games, Brown racked up 102.75 DraftKings points in 72 minutes. He is white-hot from the floor right now, hitting 20 of his 33 shots in those two games, including 7-for-12 from beyond the arc. Brown still is a good two-way player, so he is stacking the stats across the board. I'll ride him until he cools off.

Caleb Grill, Iowa State ($5,900)

Grill has at least 30 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. He might not hit that mark against the Sooners, but he should be comfortably in the 20s. The only real bust he had in the month of December in when he was battling an illness in a blowout loss to Iowa. The Cyclones routed a pretty good Baylor team to close out 2022 and should have a strong start to 2023...stronger than their prices suggest. Most of the team is a bargain right now. Gabe Kalscheur is also a good play in this range, but I like the peripherals on Grill more. Kalscheur is more dependent on scoring.

Jaylen Blakes, Duke ($4,500)

If Blakes is going to remain in the starting lineup, he is a huge steal at this price. He has played 56 minutes in the last two games and racked up 59.25 DraftKings points. He still feels like a scoring-dependent player, but the number of minutes and the low threshold for hitting value makes him worth the risk in any format. Blakes has provided a much-needed spark to the Duke backcourt.

Also consider: Isaiah Wong, Miami ($9,100); Andre Jackson, Connecticut ($7,800); Grant Sherfield, Oklahoma ($7,500); Devin Carter, Providence ($7,200); Jared Bynum, Providence ($5,800); Miles Kelly, Georgia Tech ($5,500); Andrew Funk, Penn State ($5,100); Milos Uzan, Oklahoma ($4,700); Kowacie Reeves, Florida ($4,200)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Norchad Omier, Miami ($8,300)

Even though Omier sometimes gets himself into foul trouble, he hasn't been under 23 DraftKings points in a game yet this year and has topped 40 three different times. He has a high floor and is a constant double-double threat. He's an efficient and capable scorer and protects the rim well. There's a reason for his high floor. The scoring is just a bonus with Omier.

Makhi Mitchell, Arkansas ($6,900)

With Trevon Brazile out for the rest of the 2022-23 season, Mitchell should continue to see big minutes. He's not much of a scorer, but he does literally everything else. He leads the team in blocks, averages almost 1.5 steals per game, and has had a couple of double-digit rebound games since Brazile went down. His limited offensive looks cap the upside, but Mitchell's floor is about as good as it gets for the price.

Ryan Young, Duke ($6,400)

Despite the return of freshman sensation Dereck Lively II on Saturday, Young put up one of the best games of his Duke career with 20 points and 12 rebounds in just 24 minutes. Lively played 12 minutes and didn't take a single shot. For now, Young seems to be the safer play even though Lively started in front of him. Considering that Mark Mitchell hasn't exactly set the world on fire either, there is still plenty of potential for Young as long as he keeps outplaying the competition.

Osun Osunniyi, Iowa State ($4,200)

Osunniyi made his return from an ankle injury on Saturday against Baylor and immediately became the favorite to pick up extra minutes and production with Kunc out with a broken finger. Osunniyi was efficient from the field and rebounded well in his 21 minutes. His court time was likely cut short by foul trouble, so he should have more upside against Oklahoma here.

Also consider: Johni Broome, Auburn ($8,600); Ed Croswell, Providence ($7,500); Qudus Wahab, Georgetown ($7,300); Terrance Williams, Michigan ($5,600); Jalen Hill, Oklahoma ($5,200); Dariq Whitehead, Duke ($4,500); Sam Godwin, Oklahoma ($4,100)
