We have a light Monday with two games. Several matchups will be intriguing to follow throughout the night. I will do my best to navigate you through a light Monday slate which starts at 9:00 PM EST.
DraftKings is not listing the Winter Classic as an option for classic contests, just showdown play. So instead, the player picks will be focused on Vegas at Colorado and Philadelphia at Anaheim.
NHL DFS Goalies
John Gibson- | DK $7.8K | FD 7.0K
Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers
Should John Gibson start against the Flyers, he could be a solid option to pick for DFS play on Monday. Salary-wise, he is the cheapest option on FanDuel at $7.0K amongst goalie options that could be playing Monday. Gibson is an excellent goaltender playing on an awful Anaheim club that continues to rebuild. The Anaheim netminder has already made 763 saves in just 24 contests. Luckily the Ducks are playing the Flyers, another weak team that is also in a rebuild. Philadelphia has a 6-8-6 record on the road.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Alexandar Georgiev (DK $8.1K | FD $8.1K), Logan Thompson (DK $7.2K| FD $8.5K)
NHL DFS Center
Nathan MacKinnon- | DK $8.9K | FD 10.0K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
The Colorado centerman played New Year's Eve for the first time (upper body) since December 5th last year. In his first game back, he didn't log any points but had three shots on goal and one hit in the 6-2 loss to Toronto. Look for MacKinnon to get back to where he left off before getting hurt, as the defending Stanley Cup champs are finally starting to get healthy.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): JT Compher (DK $4.3K | FD $6.3K), Chandler Stephenson (DK $5.8K| FD $6.8K)
NHL DFS Wings
Mark Stone -DK $6.2K | FD $7.5K
Opponent - Colorado Avalanche
Winger Mark Stone has a slightly cheaper salary on DraftKings ($6.2) and FanDuel ($7.5) than some other top wingers available. He's also logged four goals and six assists in the last five games. In one game against the Avalanche this season, Stone collected two assists in a 3-2 October 22nd Vegas loss.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Troy Terry (DK $5.9K | FD $7.K), Artturi Lehkonen (DK $5.3K| FD $7.0K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Cale Makar- DK $7.1K | FD $7.6K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
Makar is averaging under a point a game with 34 points in 35 Colorado contests. He has two goals, four assists, and 18 shots in the last five games. Makar could see an uptick in points with Nathan MacKinnon healthy and back in the lineup.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Devon Toews (DK $4.7K | FD $5.5K), Alex Pietrangelo (DK $7.4K | FD $7.8K)
