New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is currently in the midst of the best fantasy season of his career to this point. Jones is the QB10 on the year, averaging 17.19 fantasy points per contest while leading the Giants to what will be their best record since the 2016-2017 campaign.
With many fantasy leagues holding their championship matchups in Week 17, every lineup decision made this weekend is crucial. For many managers who opted to stream the quarterback position rather than drafting an every-week starter in the early rounds, it will be extremely important to make the correct choice at QB. Those that drafted Jalen Hurts are likely also tasked with the same decision this week.
So, has Daniel Jones proven himself enough this year to be in consideration as a starting option for your team? How intriguing is his matchup against the Indianapolis Colts? Let's find out.

Has Daniel Jones Been A Reliable Fantasy Football Option In 2022?
As stated above, Jones has averaged over 17 fantasy points per game this year, but context is everything. Did he post a few huge performances that skewed his average?
Jones does have four top-10 fantasy outings under his belt this season, but truthfully, he's been consistently solid. The 25-year-old signal-caller failed to reach double-digit fantasy points in Weeks 8 and 15 but has eclipsed at least 12 points in every other game.
Although he has only thrown for multiple passing touchdowns three times, Jones averages over 41 rushing yards on around seven attempts per game. This volume on the ground gives him an excellent floor that few other fantasy quarterbacks possess. He's also added five rushing touchdowns in 2022, so the potential for a ceiling outcome is also clearly there.
How Good Is Daniel Jones' Matchup In Week 17?
The Giants will face the Indianapolis Colts at home on Sunday. Although the Colts have been a middle-of-the-pack defense against fantasy QBs this year, there are other reasons to consider this a plus matchup.
For starters, Jones has found much more success at home this season than on the road. In eight home bouts, Jones has thrown eight passing touchdowns while adding 345 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns to score a total of 90.5 fantasy points. In his seven away contests, Jones has thrown five passing touchdowns to go along with 272 rushing yards and one score on the ground, totaling just 53.2 fantasy points.
In addition to his better play at home, there is another reason Jones and the Giants are excited to take the field of MetLife Stadium this week. With a victory over the Colts, New York would clinch its first playoff berth since 2016.
It would mean something for #Giants to clinch a playoff spot at home in MetLife Stadium after the past few years.
“Yeah, to do it in front of the home fans it will be a great opportunity for us,” QB Daniel Jones said. “We know we have to take care of business.”#giants #colts pic.twitter.com/lrL0j4rXb9

The team knows the postseason implications of this matchup, so expect Jones to do everything in his power to ensure a win in front of the home crowd.
Should I Start Daniel Jones In Week 17 Fantasy Football?
The answer to this question ultimately depends on your other options, but Jones should be viewed as a start-worthy quarterback in fantasy lineups this week. He has sustained solid output throughout the season and has a great baseline due to his rushing production.
Jones will be motivated to win at home, where he excels from a fantasy standpoint, and will face an opponent that should not strike fear in the hearts of fantasy managers. Indianapolis allows just under 20 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks and has surrendered seven top-12 fantasy QB finishes this season.
He may seem difficult to trust with a fantasy title on the line, but Jones should be able to get the job done as a streaming option on Sunday.
