An increased workload was expected from Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson after Jonathan Taylor was placed on Injured Reserve due to a season-ending ankle injury. But the outlook remains bleak for Jackson, even without their All-Pro rusher. He failed to register a rushing yard but had nine receiving yards in their Week 16 defeat against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Colts may try to run the ball more against the New York Giants, a team tied for the second-worst run-stop win rate at 27 percent. However, Zack Moss may continue to get the lion's share of snaps after solid performances in Weeks 15 and 16. That said, it's best to avoid Jackson because he provides meager value in fantasy football.--Lance Fernandez - RotoBaller

Former Cleveland Browns running back Deon Jackson has been claimed off waivers by the New York Giants. Jackson, who was released by the Colts on September 23, signed with Cleveland's practice squad several days later. He was elevated to the active roster ahead of the Week 7 contest against the Indianapolis Colts but didn't log a snap. He was then waived by Cleveland and has now been claimed by the New York Giants. So the 24-year-old running back is now with his third organization in the last month. He will just serve as backfield depth for NYG and has no fantasy value as long as he remains on the practice squad.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

The Cleveland Browns signed running back Deon Jackson to their 53-man active roster on Saturday and elevated linebacker Charlie Thomas III and quarterback P.J. Walker to their active roster from the practice squad. Jackson was cut loose by the Indianapolis Colts in September and latched on with the Browns practice squad. The 24-year-old will give the Browns some more running back depth for Sunday's Week 7 contest against the Indianapolis Colts with Kareem Hunt (thigh) listed as questionable to play. It could be an early sign that Hunt will be ruled out, but fantasy managers will want to check back Sunday morning for final word. Jackson played in two games for the Colts this year and saw 13 carries for 14 yards while catching five passes for another 14 yards.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Cleveland Browns signed running back Deon Jackson and tight end Devin Asiasi to their practice squad on Tuesday. Jackson was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday but did not have to wait long to latch on with another team. He will now bide his time in Cleveland where he could eventually get elevated from the practice squad if the team needs an extra body at the running back position. Jackson has had some big games over his NFL career but struggled in 2023, losing two fumbles and gaining just 14 yards on 13 carries. Asiasi last appeared in a game with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022 and finished the year with two catches for five yards.--Matt T - RotoBaller

The Indianapolis Colts are releasing running back Deon Jackson on Saturday, according to a source, and are bringing up Trey Sermon from the practice squad for the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson got the start for the Colts in the Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with Zack Moss still recovering from a fractured forearm and sealed his fate with 13 carries for just 14 yards, catching five of six targets for 14 yards and losing two fumbles. Moss returned last week and will work as the leader of this backfield until Jonathan Taylor (ankle) can return from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Rookie Evan Hull (knee) is out for the year with a torn meniscus, leaving Jake Funk and Sermon as the only other RBs on the roster right now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
