Irv Smith Jr. Designated To Return From Injured Reserve
2 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. (ankle) has been designated to return from injured reserve. The veteran tight end was placed on the injured reserve list after the Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals because of an ankle injury. Smith is averaging only 5.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, scoring 8.8 or fewer fantasy points in all but one contest this season. Meanwhile, the Vikings traded for T.J. Hockenson after Smith got hurt. Even if the former second-round pick is placed on the active roster this week, Smith has no fantasy value as long as Hockenson is healthy. Fantasy players can leave for the former Alabama tight end on the waiver wire in all redraft leagues.
