With "Championship Week" upon us, fantasy managers must stay on top of key injury situations ahead of Week 17.
One important injury that many fantasy GMs are monitoring closely is the status of Philadelphia Eagles star QB Jalen Hurts. Hurts missed last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Is Jalen Hurts Injured Or Healthy?
A legitimate MVP candidate, Jalen Hurts has put together a dazzling 2022 season. The Philly signal-caller has been lethal both through the air and on the ground. Hurts has thrown for 3,472 yards and 22 TDs while rushing for 747 yards and a league-leading 13 TDs. His average of 26.4 fantasy points per game in standard scoring is the top mark in the NFL this season.
Unfortunately, Hurts suffered a sprain to his throwing shoulder in a Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears. The issue kept him out of last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys and has his availability for a Week 17 date with the New Orleans Saints in serious doubt.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni refused to rule Hurts out for the tilt with New Orleans on Monday afternoon. However, ESPN's Dan Graziano wrote in his Week 17 Insider column that he'd be, "surprised if he (Hurts) played this week."
Jalen Hurts Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 17
It is going to be a long week for Hurts' fantasy managers, as we seem nowhere near getting clarity on his Week 17 status yet.
With two games remaining in the regular season, the Eagles need just one win to clinch the NFC East divisional title and a first-round bye in the playoffs, so the team does have some incentive to play Hurts if and when he's healthy.
Assuming Hurts can't suit up against the Saints this week, backup QB Gardner Minshew will once again be a strong substitute. While he doesn't possess Hurts' rushing ability, the Philadelphia coaching staff entrusted him to attempt 40 passes last week against the Dallas Cowboys and Minshew proved up to the task from a fantasy standpoint. He's a player that Hurts' fantasy managers should have already picked up last week.
If Hurts does indeed suit up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 17, his GMs will need to have clarity on his injury and how much he would play before locking him in. Stay plugged into RotoBaller for news on Hurts as it develops throughout the week.
