Is Mike White Hurt Or Healthy?
After being sidelined for the last two weeks with a rib injury suffered against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, New York Jets quarterback Mike White is set to return for a Week 17 date with the Seattle Seahawks according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
White will once again replace Zach Wilson under center, after Wilson and the Jets' offense put forth an abysmal Week 16 performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars, scoring just three points in the ugly home loss to the Jags.
Should I Start Mike White In Week 17?
With Wilson booed off the field in New York in Week 16 and benched once again, White should be the man for the rest of the season. Many believe that the last two games of the 2022 regular season will serve as an "audition" for White ahead of 2023.
He provided a noticeable spark for a sluggish Jets offense during his earlier stint at the helm this year, passing for 952 yards and three TDs while averaging 17.7 fantasy points per game across his three starts.
White will have a good chance to resume his success against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17. Seattle rates just 21st in the NFL in Pass Defense DVOA and have allowed opposing QBs to throw 22 TDs this season.
Fantasy GMs that are trying to win a league title this week can consider the spunky White as a rock-solid option with plenty of fantasy viability. He serves as a strong substitute option for those dealing with injuries or underwhelming production at the QB position.
