Should I Pickup Noah Fant For Week 17?
Over the first eight games this year, the veteran tight end averaged only 3.5 targets and 4.3 fantasy points per contest. However, he has played well recently. Over the past four weeks, Fant has averaged 3.8 targets and eight fantasy points per game, scoring 8.2 or more fantasy points three times.
Furthermore, the former Iowa star tight end has four touchdowns this season, with two coming in the past two weeks. On Saturday, Fant had a touchdown and scored 8.2 fantasy points against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the veteran tight end faces the New York Jets in Week 17. The AFC East team has surrendered 5.3 receptions for 79.3 receiving yards and 14.6 fantasy points per game to tight ends over the past three weeks, giving up two touchdowns during that span.
What Other Tight Ends Should I Consider For Week 17?
While Fant is a solid streaming option for Week 17, fantasy players should check their waiver wire for Greg Dulcich. The rookie tight end is available in just under 50% of ESPN leagues.
The former UCLA star has played well this season. He is the TE23 for the year, averaging seven fantasy points per game. After missing the first five games this year, Dulcich made his season debut in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In that game, the rookie caught two of three targets for 44 receiving yards and a touchdown, ending the week as the TE9 with 11.4 fantasy points. More importantly, Dulcich has played well lately.
Over the past four weeks, the former UCLA star has averaged 6.5 targets and 7.7 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has seen eight targets in the three games Wilson played during that span, averaging 9.7 fantasy points per game in those contests.
Last week Dulcich caught four of eight targets for 39 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams.
Meanwhile, the rookie faces the Chiefs this week. They have surrendered 9.9 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. Furthermore, Kansas City has struggled to slow down tight ends lately, giving up 1.5 touchdowns and 17.5 fantasy points per game to the position over the past two weeks.
Fant is a solid streaming option for Week 17. However, Dulcich is a much better option if he’s available.
