Najee Harris Injury News
Harris nursed a hip injury during practice this past week. He opened the week as a non-participant on Tuesday, upgraded to limited on Wednesday, and managed to log a full session on Thursday. Initial concerns about his availability early in the week have since morphed into extreme optimism.
Is Najee Harris Injured or Playing in Week 16?
As a result of his availability to close out the week, Harris has been removed from the injury report. Barring a drastic setback, he will play in Week 16.
Fantasy managers should fire up the second year back as an RB2 in fantasy football. For starters, he faces little competition. Jaylen Warren and Benny Snell Jr. will continue to get involved, but neither of them threatens Harris for his workhorse role.
Additionally, the Steelers play against the Raiders this week, which is a great matchup for opposing running backs. Translation: Harris has hit the jackpot. Through its first 14 contests, Las Vegas has allowed a whopping 26.7 fantasy points per game to running backs, good for third-most in the NFL. The Raiders have specifically been picked apart in the passing game. Opposing running backs average 6.1 receptions (third-most) and an NFL-high 49.8 receiving yards when facing Josh McDaniels’ squad.
Between his clean bill of health and incredibly favorable matchup, Harris appears poised for a big Week 16. He should be viewed as a steady RB2 option who just might help you punch your ticket to the fantasy championship.
