Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (knee) is out for the remainder of the 2022 NFL season, so Colt McCoy got the start in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. However, McCoy got banged up in the second half, putting fourth-year quarterback Trace McSorley in a position to potentially start his first game in the NFL.
This is purely an injury-related decision for head coach Kliff Kingsbury, so we'll have to check in on McCoy's latest injury update, as he'd be the clear starter as long as he's active.
Who will start for the Cardinals against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is either quarterback worth starting in fantasy football? Let's find out.

Is Colt McCoy Or Trace McSorley Starting In Week 16 Fantasy Football?
McCoy (concussion) won't play in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cardinals lost star quarterback Kyler Murray (knee) in Week 14 against the New England Patriots for the rest of the season. McCoy started against the Denver Broncos last week but left the contest early with the concussion.
Trace McSorley replaced the former Texas Longhorn against Denver and will start on Christmas Day against the Buccaneers. David Blough will serve as his backup. Hopefully, McCoy can clear the concussion protocol and return in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. However, fantasy players shouldn't be surprised if McSorley is the starter for the rest of the season.
Should I Start Trace McSorley In Week 16?
Since McSorley has never started an NFL game and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers present a neutral matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, he's a bottom-of-the-barrel option in Week 16 on Sunday Night Football. In seven career games played, McSorley has completed just 15 of his 29 passing attempts for 256 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions to go along with 11 rushes for 52 yards.
There are plenty of better options on the waiver wire, so McSorley is purely a desperation superflex/two-quarterback league option. Stranger things have happened in fantasy than McSorley having a huge breakout performance, but it's not a bet or a risk worth taking in the fantasy football playoffs.
The ceilings of James Conner, DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown (questionable-groin), Trey McBride, and all other Cardinals' offensive players are capped in this spot with McSorley under center.
