The Columbus Blue Jackets traded for forward Luke Kunin on Friday in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick. Kunin will move on from the Sharks after spending three seasons in San Jose. The 27-year-old was San Jose's leader in hits this season with 163 and has notched 18 points (11 goals, seven assists) in 63 games. He looks set to remain a middle-six piece for the playoff-chasing Blue Jackets, who value Kunin's versatility. "Luke is a versatile forward who can play down the middle or on the wing, kills penalties and has tremendous character and work ethic," Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell said. "He has been a very consistent player throughout his career, and we think he'll be a good addition to our club." Kunin is a pending unrestricted free agent, having signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal last summer.

San Jose Sharks center Luke Kunin is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt against Nashville. Kunin is in danger of missing his sixth game of the season. Things haven't gone very well for Kunin in 2023-24, as he sits on 10 points (eight goals, two assists) through 50 appearances. Since the start of December, Kunin has added to his tally in only two outings, although the eight-goal effort still puts him tied for fourth on San Jose's goals list, while only two Sharks players have delivered more hits than Kunin (107).

San Jose Sharks center Luke Kunin (upper body) was added to Injured Reserve on Saturday. He missed Friday's battle with the Devils and will be out for at least three more games. Kunin has been one of the best goal-scorers on a struggling Sharks team, lightning the lamp five times. He's added two assists across 23 appearances while also being among the team leaders with 29 hits and registering 20 blocks with 40 shots on goal.

San Jose Sharks winger Luke Kunin had a hand in three goals in Monday's 5-1 triumph over Ottawa. He grabbed a hat trick of assists, which included one power-play helper. This was a massive performance from him after Kunin had recorded only two points in his previous nine November appearances. He's now on 10 points for the campaign in 21 games, having added 42 shots, 43 hits, 12 blocks and 34 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old is a good asset in leagues that counts all the stats, although managers also have to be weary of Kunin's minus-10 rating.
