New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has been a pleasant surprise this season. The veteran is the TE14 for the year, averaging 6.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
While the New Orleans offense has struggled, the former Oregon Duck has played well. His five receiving touchdowns led the team. Furthermore, Johnson has accounted for 25% of the team’s receiving touchdowns this season.
Unfortunately, the veteran suffered an ankle injury in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. He then missed the following matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Is Juwan Johnson Playing In Week 15?
Last week, the Saints had their bye, giving Johnson a chance to get healthy. However, the veteran tight end was a limited participant in practice all week because of the ankle injury. He is listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Should I Pickup And Start Johnson For Fantasy Football?
Assuming he plays this week, Johnson is an excellent streaming option for fantasy players. The veteran tight end had five touchdowns over the previous five contests before suffering the injury. He scored a touchdown in three straight games before the matchup against the 49ers.
Furthermore, the veteran tight end had at least 42 receiving yards in three straight games before getting hurt. More importantly, the former Oregon Duck has scored 11 or more fantasy points in four of the past six contests.
Meanwhile, Johnson has an excellent matchup against the NFC South division rivals. Atlanta has surrendered 10.9 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, the ninth-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they have been awful at stopping tight ends lately.
Over the past two weeks, the Falcons have given up nine receptions for 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns to the position. Tight ends have scored the second-most fantasy points against Atlanta during that span.
More importantly, the Falcons have surrendered double-digit fantasy points to tight ends in over 60% of their games this season, including 20.1 fantasy points in the Week 1 matchup against the Saints.
Fantasy players that need a last-minute replacement for Dallas Goedert or Hayden Hurst should add Johnson off the waiver wire. He should find the end zone at least once against the Falcons.
