Lamar Jackson Injury Update
Lamar Jackson was diagnosed with a sprained knee following Week 13, which caused him to miss last week's contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After not practicing for the second straight week for the Baltimore Ravens, Jackson has been ruled out for the second straight week.
With Jackson sidelined again, Tyler Huntley will make a second straight start for the Ravens. Huntley entered the NFL's concussion protocol after taking a hit to the head in Week 14 versus the Steelers, but he's seemingly been cleared to play on Sunday.
Besides Huntley, Anthony Brown was elevated to the active roster for the second straight week, making him Huntley's immediate backup. Outside of Mark Andrews, none of the other pass catchers on the Ravens are worth playing in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns.
Justin Fields Injury Update
Justin Fields made an appearance on the injury report for the Chicago Bears earlier this week due to an illness. Upon being able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday, Fields has been removed from the injury report for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The second-year quarterback appears to be healthy entering a tough matchup against the Eagles following a bye week for the Bears. With fantasy playoffs now upon us, you're likely starting Fields at home despite the lack of receiving weapons he'll have available in Week 15.
Even though Fields has faced the New England Patriots, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Green Bay Packers in his last seven games, he's finished as QB8 or better in all seven of those games. Unless you're in a league where you have multiple top-tier fantasy quarterbacks, Fields should be started on Sunday.
Trevor Lawrence Injury Update
Trevor Lawrence entered Week 14 with a toe injury he suffered in Week 13 against the Detroit Lions and he proceeded to have arguably the best game of his career versus the Tennessee Titans. Due to being limited in practice to finish the week, Lawrence is considered questionable to suit up on Sunday against the Cowboys.
There haven't been any indications that Lawrence worsened the toe injury or trending toward being doubtful, so the expectation should be for him to play in Week 15. The toe ailment didn't limit him in Week 14 as he aired it out for 368 yards and three touchdowns, proving that his injury isn't affecting his play on the field.
The matchup for Lawrence is certainly a tough one this week with the Cowboys allowing the fourth-fewest points per game to quarterbacks this season. That being said, the No. 1 overall pick from a season ago is cooking right now and is a solid QB2 in Week 15.
Mike White Injury Update
Mike White took a massive hit in last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills, but he would return to the game after Joe Flacco took a few snaps. While all signs pointed toward him being able to play earlier in the week, the New York Jets have ruled White out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions and named Zach Wilson the starter.
White wasn't medically cleared to play on Sunday, so the Jets are taking a cautious approach with him. Instead of going with Flacco, Wilson is getting another chance to start after being benched for White a few weeks ago.
The Lions have become a nice pass-funnel defense to attack in fantasy football in recent weeks as their run defense has vastly improved. With Wilson now starting at quarterback, all of the skill-position players for the Jets take a decent-sized hit despite the favorable matchup.
Russell Wilson Injury Update
Russell Wilson suffered a scary head injury in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs and he entered the league's concussion protocol. Despite clearing the protocol on Friday, the Denver Broncos have elected to sit Wilson this week against the Arizona Cardinals.
The veteran signal-caller was prepared to suit up for the Broncos on Sunday, but Nathaniel Hackett and the team are taking a cautious approach, especially with Denver not in playoff contention. With Wilson sidelined, Brett Rypien is expected to make his third career start and his second start of the season.
Besides Wilson, the Broncos also ruled out Courtland Sutton and Kendall Hinton. Aside from Jerry Jeudy and maybe Greg Dulcich, none of the other pass catchers in Denver's offense are worth considering in Week 15.
Kenny Pickett Injury Update
Kenny Pickett suffered a head injury after taking a hit in Week 14 versus the Ravens and despite returning, he would be eventually replaced by Mitch Trubisky. Despite practicing in a limited fashion this week, Pickett is considered doubtful to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
It's nice to see teams around the league now prioritizing player safety when it comes to head injuries this season, and with the Steelers being cautious with their rookie quarterback, he likely won't see the field in Week 15. Along with labeling Pickett as doubtful, the Steelers shared that they won't announce a starting quarterback until Saturday.
Both Trubisky and Mason Rudolph split first-team reps this week for the Steelers, so those are the two candidates to start. The good news for whoever starts under center is that Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth will be active on Sunday.
