Texans Waive Eno Benjamin Tuesday
2 years agoThe Houston Texans waived running back Eno Benjamin on Tuesday, according to a source. Benjamin saw his first action with the Texans in the Week 14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, carrying the ball three times for one yards on just eight offensive snaps. Rookie standout Dameon Pierce (ankle) suffered a mild high-ankle sprain on Sunday and could miss one to two games, so with Benjamin now out of the picture, Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale would see expanded roles in Houston's backfield this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs if Pierce is inactive. Benjamin began the year with the Arizona Cardinals and has 73 combined carries for 300 yards and two touchdowns, adding 24 catches for 184 yards in 12 games (three starts) in 2022. He'll look to latch on with another team for the final four weeks of the regular season.
