Brock Purdy Undergoing MRI On His Oblique
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy (oblique) is undergoing an MRI exam on Monday on his injured oblique, according to a source. Purdy was injured on the second drive of the game in the Week 14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he played well after the injury, going 16-for-21 for 185 yards and two touchdown passes while adding a rushing score. Pending further tests, there isn't a whole lot of concern for the seventh-rounder moving forward. However, the Niners have a quick turnaround in Week 15 with a game on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks. With Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) unlikely to play again this year, if Purdy can't go on Thursday night, Josh Johnson would get the start under center for San Fran.
