Dylan Cease To Get $2.4 Million In Pre-Arbitration Bonus Pool
2 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease will take home over $2.4 million in the first-ever pre-arbitration bonus pool after finishing second in the American League Cy Young voting and sixth in Wins Above Replacement among qualified players, according to a source. The new collective bargaining agreement set aside $50 million for the top 100 players, according to MLB's WAR metric. Cease will earn an extra $707,425 due to his WAR ranking and $1.75 million for his second-place finish in Cy Young voting. Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez will make the second-most at $2,381,143 due to his top ranking in WAR and for finishing third in the AL MVP.
