Killian Hayes is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 9 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: The rostership is starting to rise as fantasy GMs have finally realized Killian Hayes is worth the dough. About time, folks. Cade Cunningham isn't even close to returning (even if he decides to do so at all, which would make little to no sense) and Hayes has taken the full reins of the Pistons' backcourt.
The starts keep pilling up and they are now at 15 straight for Hayes. He had a rough game on Friday and was limited to just 19 minutes because he got into foul trouble (which is worrying, because he's committed at least five PF in seven of his last 13 games...).
Other than that, though, Hayes has scored at least 28 FP in six of his last eight games played (all from Nov. 25 onwards) and has averaged 13+ PPG, 3+ RPG, 7.5 APG, and 1.5+ SPG in that span. That's bonkers numbers for someone who was considered to have a foot and a half out of the league a year ago.
Just for context, those averages are only being put together by three players in the NBA through the full season: Luka Doncic, Tyrese Haliburton, and Jrue Holiday. There will be up and downs and bumps in the road, but Hayes has looked legitimately great of late and his context/opportunities shouldn't change ROS.
