Diamondbacks Looking At Justin Turner
2 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks, along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins, are among around half a dozen teams that are in on free-agent third baseman Justin Turner. The 38-year-old veteran slugger became a free agent when the Dodgers declined his $16 million option for the 2023 season. Turner can still hit and get on base at a solid clip, but his power numbers took a noticeable dip after he slugged 27 long balls in his second All-Star campaign in 2021. In 128 games played for the Dodgers last season, Turner slashed .278/.350/.438 with 13 home runs, 81 RBI, 61 runs scored and three stolen bases. A return to LA, where he's spent the last nine years of his career, is not out of the question. At the tail end of his career, Turner is probably best suited as a full-time designated hitter.
