Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks is having arguably the worst season of his career a lifeless offense, but as fantasy managers begin to shape rosters for the fantasy football playoffs, he remains on the fantasy radar.
Cooks missed last week's game against the Cleveland Browns and his status for Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain. David Mills is taking back the starting quarterback job from Kyle Allen, so his ceiling might be a bit higher if he can play.
Will Cooks play in Week 14 and what is his fantasy outlook for Sunday?

Brandin Cooks Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Cooks (calf) did not practice Wednesday, so his Week 14 status is still very much in question. Houston has already been eliminated from playoff contention and Cooks was vocal about being traded earlier in the season, so there's a chance he is in no rush to get back to the playing field.
It's always tough to predict how bottom-of-the-barrel teams with nothing to play for will handle injury situations, especially with veterans. That said, we'll have to wait until later in the week to get real clarity here.
Brandin Cooks Week 14 Outlook
The Dallas Cowboys have allowed the 13th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, but the Texans' offense is bad enough to not take advantage. Dallas has been blowing teams out in recent weeks and forcing come-from-behind game scripts, so those numbers are likely inflated, anyway. The Dallas defense is widely regarded as one of the top units in the league and should have no issue holding the Texans under 14 points.
All that said, Cooks is far from a must-start if active. In fact, he's a low-end flex consideration with the emergence of Nico Collins. Collins has out-targeted Cooks in each of their last three games played together. It's no secret this Houston offense is very unlikely to support two fantasy-relevant wide receivers, so Cooks is now in the touchdown-or-bust category for the first time in his career.
In ultra-deep leagues, plenty of fantasy managers will be forced to start Cooks, but in most cases, there are plenty of options with more upside on the bench or the waiver wire.
