Courtland Sutton Deemed Day-To-Day
Courtland Sutton (hamstring) is being considered day-to-day by head coach Nathaniel Hackett after he was injured in the Week 13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Sutton failed to catch his only target in Sunday's game and never returned, leaving his fantasy managers with a fat donut in the stat column. The 27-year-old doesn't appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but he still won't be a lock to play in Week 14 against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs. Even if Sutton is able to suit up, he'll be more of a WR3/flex without much upside in fantasy in Denver's low-scoring offense and with Jerry Jeudy back after missing two games due to an ankle injury. We'll keep a close eye on Sutton's practice status this week.

"No Timeline" On Courtland Sutton Extension
Courtland Sutton. The 29-year-old will still be at the team's offseason program. Broncos general manager George Paton reported that any contract extension talks would occur after the draft. Sutton is entering the final year of a four-year contract and carries a cap hit of $20.2 million. He performed well last year with the expedited ascension of rookie QB Bo Nix, capping 1,000 yards (1,081) for the first time since 2019 and notching the highest reception total of his career (81). Whether the SMU alum will be as effective another year older in 2025 remains to be seen -- particularly for a player who doesn't get much separation. Still, Denver hasn't added much in terms of offensive weaponry besides tight end Evan Engram in free agency. Sutton should again be Nix's primary target, barring a big move in the draft.

Broncos To Discuss Contract Extension With Courtland Sutton
Courtland Sutton to stick around Denver and that he will talk to Sutton's agent this week in Indianapolis about a potential contract extension. Sutton voiced displeasure about his contract last offseason, and the Broncos added some incentives to appease him. However, the 29-year-old is surely going to want an upgraded contract this offseason after recording the second 1,000-yard receiving season of his career as rookie quarterback Bo Nix's go-to target in the passing game in 2024. In addition to his 1,081 yards, Sutton caught 81 of his career-high 135 targets and scored eight times, making him a top-15 fantasy wideout. Sutton has 18 touchdowns the last two years and should be treated as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 heading into 2025 fantasy drafts.

Courtland Sutton Likely Wants Contract Restructured
Courtland Sutton made it clear last offseason that he was unhappy with the structure of his contract, which at the time had two years left with little guaranteed money. Sutton and the Broncos eventually revised his contract to add $1.7 million in incentives for 2024, ultimately reaching most of them after posting his second 1,000-yard campaign with a career-high 81 catches and eight touchdowns. The 29-year-old is now entering the final year of his contract and has no guaranteed money remaining. He's due $14 million in 2025, which would make him the 24th highest-paid receiver in the NFL. However, he's solid 2024 season suggests he deserves more after ranking 17th among wideouts in catches, 13th in receiving yards (1,081) and tied for 12th in TDs. The Athletic's Nick Kosmider writes it's probably safe to assume Sutton doesn't intend to play 2025 as his contract is currently structured.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a nice bounce-back season as he tallied over 1,000 yards for just the second time in his career and the first time since 2019. Sutton was very productive over the final six games of the regular season, averaging an impressive 17.8 PPR points per game over this stretch.
