David Savard Out With An Upper-Body Injury
2 years agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard will miss Monday's matchup against Vancouver with an upper-body injury. He will miss his first game of the season and Montreal considers Savard day-to-day. Savard has been a shot-blocking machine for Montreal, throwing himself in front of 74 shots in 24 games, and he has chipped in a bit offensively as well, registering eight points. The 32-year-old has been skating on the first defensive pairing with Mike Matheson and is averaging the second-most minutes on the team, so Savard's absence is set to leave a significant gap on the Canadiens blue line. With another game coming up on Tuesday, it's possible that he will be forced to miss multiple games.

David Savard Out For 6-8 Weeks
1 year agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard will miss 6-8 weeks of action due to a fractured left hand. He was injured in Monday's matchup versus Buffalo, leaving Montreal without another big piece from the back after Kaiden Guhle (upper body) got knocked out of the lineup.
