Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones caught all three of his targets for 44 yards in a 27-14 win over the Houston Texans in Week 13. Peoples-Jones only drew three targets in the win but he made the most of them as he led the Browns in receiving yardage in the game. He also contributed on special teams as he ripped off a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Peoples-Jones should be a solid WR3 heading into Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.--Matt T - RotoBaller

The Detroit Lions are releasing wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Peoples-Jones was dealt to the Lions at last year's trade deadline from the Browns in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He caught just five passes for 58 yards in eight games for Detroit. Overall, the Michigan product has tallied 122 receptions for 1,895 yards and eight touchdowns in 58 games since entering the NFL as a sixth-round pick in 2020. While his chances of becoming a legitimate starter seem to be dwindling, another organization might sign him after teams cut down to 53 players by Tuesday's 4 p.m. EDT deadline.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Detroit Lions wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones was dealt to the organization from the Cleveland Browns for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft last October. While he played in eight games for the Lions, he only caught five passes for 58 yards. He could be a more significant factor in the offense with a full training camp in Detroit, though he's currently behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Kalif Raymond on the depth chart. Still, the explosive wideout, who has averaged 15.5 yards per reception in his career, could have value as a late-round pick in best ball formats. If one of the starting wideouts goes down, Peoples-Jones will play significant snaps in one of the league's best offenses, and his one-play-touchdown upside could enable him to enter best ball lineups on occasion. Lions senior writer Tim Twentyman suggests Peoples-Jones is in the lead for the WR4 role, so he's at least worth monitoring early in the 2024 campaign. For now, he can be left undrafted in traditional fantasy football leagues.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

The Detroit Lions activated wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (undisclosed) from the active/Non-Football Injury list on Wednesday. Acquired from Cleveland in 2023 for a 2025 sixth-round pick, Peoples-Jones primarily served as a depth receiver last season, recording five receptions for 58 yards across eight games. This year, he will maintain a similar role, positioned behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Kalif Raymond on the wide receiver depth chart. With Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, and Sam LaPorta also contributing, Peoples-Jones is unlikely to see significant involvement in the Lions' offense. Unless Detroit faces substantial injuries, he remains off the fantasy radar.--Martin Grisko - RotoBaller

Free-agent wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones agreed to a one-year deal on Saturday to remain with the Lions. The wideout began his career by spending over three years with the Browns before being traded to Detroit ahead of the deadline last season. He appeared in eight regular-season games for the Lions, catching only five of his seven targets for 58 yards. Yet, Peoples-Jones did at least come in handy as a punt returner during the postseason after Kalif Raymond went down with a knee injury. The organization still feels the 25-year-old has some untapped potential. However, it's too early to speculate where Peoples-Jones will land on the depth chart heading into the 2024-25 campaign, considering he'll compete with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and possibly Josh Reynolds for snaps. The team may also add via the 2024 NFL Draft. With this in mind, he's someone to watch throughout training camp.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
