Fantasy Football Injury Reports For TEs: Darren Waller, David Njoku, Juwan Johnson, Logan Thomas

We're onto another week of tough start-or-sit decisions at tight end, as the scarce position has dealt with a ton of key injuries this season. Kyle Pitts (knee) is out for the season and Dallas Goedert (shoulder) is sidelined until at least Week 15. Now, the statuses of Darren Waller, David Njoku, Juwan Johnson, and Logan Thomas are unclear. We have the latest Week 13 fantasy tight end injury updates as of Saturday, December 3rd.

Darren Waller Injury Update

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) is eligible to come off Injured Reserve in time for the Week 14 game next Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams, but head coach Josh McDaniels isn't sure if the short window will have him ready in time for that game.

However, McDaniels said Waller is getting "close." Waller has been out since Week 5 and should be back before the end of the regular season, but he is running out of time to help fantasy managers. In his absence, Foster Moreau has been productive and is worth streaming this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers.

David Njoku Injury Update

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) has officially been ruled out for the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans. Njoku missed practice all week with a new knee injury than the one that sidelined him for a few games earlier this season. There's a chance he could miss time beyond this weekend.

With the 26-year-old officially out this weekend, quarterback Deshaun Watson will be looking to tight ends Harrison Bryant and Pharaoh Brown in his season debut against his former team. Neither Bryant nor Brown make for very attractive streaming tight ends in fantasy. Bryant is probably the better bet for production on Sunday, but he has just 23 receptions for 179 yards and one touchdown on 33 targets in 11 games in 2022.

Juwan Johnson Injury Update

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (ankle) did not practice on Thursday or Friday leading up to a Monday Night Football contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so his game-day status is looking bleak. Johnson is currently the TE10 on the season in PPR leagues, and is very much on the fantasy radar with so many key tight ends banged up.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends through 12 weeks, so he would likely crack starting lineups in most leagues if he's active. If he's out, Adam Trautman is an interesting streamer, but a lot of the tight end reps will be given to Taysom Hill.

Logan Thomas Injury Update

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (rib) was removed from the final Week 13 injury report on Friday and will play on Sunday against the New York Giants. Thomas has been dealing with a rib injury for a while, but he'll suit up this weekend as the team's top pass-catching tight end.

The 31-year-old has produced very little for the Commanders and fantasy managers this year, though, catching only 21 passes on 36 targets for 190 yards and one touchdown in nine games played. Injuries have continued to get in the way, but even when healthy, Thomas hasn't been on the starting fantasy radar at the thinnest position in fantasy. He'll be a low-upside TE2 streamer this weekend.
