ANALYSIS: Harrison Barnes is probably not the Barnes of old anymore, but he keeps starting games nightly for the Kings while having taken on a very specific role as part of Sacramento's first one. No more ball-hogging for him, as his below-average usage rate shows, but a spot-up-shooter role in which he's thriving is what he can give you.
Barnes is hoisting shots on low volume but he's been hitting more than half of them on a per-game basis in November. The veteran wing is shooting 47/29/87 on the season, and there is a very putrid figure smacked right in the middle of that trio that will positively regress eventually. Barnes is a career 45/37/80 so something has to give.
If that's not convincing enough for you to trust a bounceback, Barnes is one of 35 players in the NBA shooting 45% from the floor (attempting 3+ 3PA per game) and 85% from the free-throw line... while having the second-worst 3P% and one of two below 30%. On average, that 35-man group is shooting 38.6% from beyond the arc. The 29% on Barnes' line is an outlier and will change. Buy low before it's too late.
Barnes has struggled a bit with turnovers lately but his rebounds are always there to compensate a bit (in case you manage in a 9-cat league). Other than that, he's not providing that much on all other cats.
