ANALYSIS: Deni Avdija has had a frustrating, yet promising first couple of seasons in the NBA, struggling to break through to the level expected of him when the Washington Wizards took him with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. In yet another year of underwhelming projections for the Wizards, Avdija is getting the sixth most PT (24.4 MP) on the team behind the likes of Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, and Kristaps Porzingis, but the 6'9, 210-lb. Israeli prospect is finally starting to set himself apart from those teammates competing for minutes.
In the nine games since 11/10 against the Mavs, Avdija has only failed to amass at least 26.5 minutes of play in one contest (11/18 vs. MIA). In the other eight games, since that point, he has averaged 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block per game with eleven total three-pointers. He has remained super steady in his ratio-driven statistical production over his three years with Washington, but his usage and opportunity are finally on the rise, and so he has become a widely-available stat-sheet-stuffer for Fantasy Basketball Managers in deep formats.
