We are now getting into the swing of the World Cup, with a few groups taking shape already. The team at RotoBaller has you covered for all your World Cup needs. We'll bring you DFS articles, game previews, and betting picks throughout the competition.
Our next match preview will be between Portugal and Ghana. This is the first opportunity for Christiano Ronaldo to get back out onto the field after all of the drama that unfolded from his interview. Does he play with new freedom? He is definitely a player for the spotlight, so I'd expect him to put on a show here.

Portugal Team Breakdown
Ronaldo is going to be the clear focus going into this. He may have tried to put the focus on the rest of the team, but it's hard given the circumstances. Portugal hasn't been a fast-starting team in tournaments traditionally, and Ghana isn't an easy team to face. They are likely to field a 4-3-3 formation here.
Strengths: Balance. This Portugal team has players that can defend effectively, create chances and finish them. This team has a backbone of effective Premier League players, with the trio from Manchester City in particular, able to turn a game on its head.
Weaknesses: Media attention. Honestly, the whole circus around Ronaldo has to have taken a toll on him, and likely others here. With how Portugal has struggled to start in major tournaments, and this distraction, Ghana could cause an upset here.
Ghana Team Breakdown
Ghana are likely to sit back a little, and try and hit Portugal on the break if their full-backs over-commit to getting forward. The likes of Thomas Partey can win the ball and command the middle of the field if given the chance. They are likely to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation here.
Strengths: Passion and drive. Ghana are going to be looking for revenge in this World Cup. After missing out in 2018, they are now in a group against Uruguay who knocked them out after Luis Suarez decided to play goalkeeper for a second. They have solid players, but not true stars throughout. That grit and determination could cause Portugal problems if they are anything less than focused.
Weaknesses: Lack of true game-changing talent. Ghana have a squad of good, not great players. Portugal have some solid, experienced defenders. So it's not going to be easy for Ghana to score. Having one true star could convert that one golden chance. Without it, they could struggle here.
Portugal v Ghana Preview
This game feels like one that is primed for an upset. Portugal have alot of talent in attack, but if they overcommit Ghana have the players to hit them on the break. Without a true finisher up front though, I have to lean toward Portugal in this one.
Score prediction: Portugal 2-1 Ghana
