Rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore was expected to have a large role in the explosive Kansas City Chiefs offense after being selected 54th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Moore got off to a slow start, continually muffing punts and frustrating Chiefs fans and coaches alike.
He failed to see the field for more than 35% of snaps all the way through Week 10 and only surpassed a 30% snap share once (Week 5).
What Did Skyy Moore Do In Week 11?
Moore played a career-high 42% snap share and was an important part of the offense in Kansas City’s 30-27 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He caught five passes on six targets for 63 yards, all career-highs.
He even earned himself a ticket out of the doghouse with Chiefs fans:
Any pass-catcher for the Kansas City Chiefs makes for an intriguing fantasy football prospect and if Skyy Moore develops trust with Patrick Mahomes and continues to be a go-to target, then he could develop into a lineup lock.
What Are the Concerns with Skyy Moore?
Moore had a strong showing against the Chargers, but he was one of the last men standing for Kansas City with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman not playing and newly-acquired Kadarius Toney exiting the game early.
Kansas City showed a clear distrust in Moore by trading for Toney, a player of a similar skillset, and it is unlikely that they play Moore over him when he returns from injury.
Should I Add Skyy Moore for Week 12 Fantasy Football?
Although his Week 11 performance was intriguing, Moore can be left on the waiver wire with so many mouths to feed in Kansas City returning to action soon.
JuJu Smith-Schuster is due back this week, Toney is likely back within a few weeks, and Hardman is still out a few weeks on the IR, but all three players are ahead of Moore on the depth chart. Expect him to return to his depth role once the pass-catchers get healthy.
