Elijah Mitchell Has Workload For Flex In Week 11
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell, who is facing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11, has continued to shoulder a large enough workload to be fantasy-relevant ever since Christian McCaffrey joined the Niners. Last week, in Mitchell's return to the field following his ankle injury suffered in Week 1, the 24-year-old rushed for 89 yards on 18 carries. Niners coach Kyle Shanahan said that his choice to involve Mitchell was deliberate. With two talented running backs rotating, they will both be fresh. "I think both of them can handle the load and do it all," Shanahan said after a practice this week. McCaffrey is still the 1a and the elite of the two, but Mitchell can be an effective flex option some weeks. The Cardinals are an above-average defense against the run, but Mitchell should be an effective flex with low-end RB2 potential.
