BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 17% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Between COVID and non-COVID maladies multiple Denver Nuggets players have spent time off the court recently opening the doors for others to pop up out of nowhere or, in the case of Bones Hyland, to solidify themselves having massive performances of late.
Hyland has yet to start a game, but even coming off the pine as a relief option for whoever mans the points from the get-go he's been an absolute menace. It's been six games in a row for Bones dumping at least 14 pops on their foes. He's actually gone on to score 21+ in three of those last six matches played getting back to Oct. 28 when he did so on the then-West-leaders Utah Jazz.
Bones has scored 3-point shots at the fourth-best rate (48.8%) in November hitting 20-of-41 only behind Steph Curry, Kevin Huerter, and Jeremi Grant (min. 40 3PA). The devil is in the details, though: Bones has played just 128 minutes in that time while the other three have logged at least 260 total minutes. In other words, Hyland has hit 5.5+ 3PM per 36M.
While three-point shooting/overall scoring is definitely one of Hyland's calling cards, the kid is actually filling stat lines all across the board. In his last six games played, Hyland has averaged 4.5 3PM, 3+ RPG, 3.5+ APG, and 1+ SPG. If you manage in a 9-cat league, though, you might want to check that 2 TOPG figure.
Hyland is even getting to the line a lot this season (nearly 3 FTA a pop) with a high success rate (81.3 FT%). One of only 11 players averaging 3+ 3PM per game while attempting also 2.5+ FTA a pop, and the only one rostered in fewer than 81% of all ESPN leagues.
