Jeimer Candelario Among Tigers Non-Tenders
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers have declined to tender a contract to third baseman Jeimer Candelario, as well as utility men Harold Castro and Willi Castro, among others. After coming up with the Cubs in 2016, Candelario was traded to Detroit and has spent nearly six seasons with the Tigers. He's had some ups and downs, with his best season coming in 2020 when he recorded an .872 OPS with seven homers in 206 plate appearances. He was at his lowest in 2022, slashing .217/.272/.361 with 13 home runs in 467 plate appearances. He'll look to resurrect his career somewhere new in the spring.
