Is Mecole Hardman Being Placed On Injured Reserve?
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman has been battling an abdominal injury in recent weeks. The explosive wideout was forced to miss KC's Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with the abdomen issue.
Hardman has failed to practice in any fashion this week ahead of the Chiefs' Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Today, Kansas City placed their speedy receiver on Injured Reserve due to his lingering abdominal troubles. Hardman will now miss at least KC's next four games and won't be eligible to return until Week 15.
Should I Start Kadarius Toney?
The Kansas City Chiefs made a splashy move when they acquired WR Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants last month. It's a trade that's already paying dividends, as Toney scored his first TD as a Chief in last week's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After being eased in with just nine snaps in his Chiefs debut against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9, Toney's role significantly increased in a Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The electric receiver hauled in four of five targets for 57 yards and a TD, while also rushing for 33 yards on two carries against the Jags.
With Hardman now on Injured Reserve and fellow KC receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster currently in the NFL's concussion protocol, the door to usage for Toney is wide open heading into a Week 11 matchup against the L.A. Chargers.
This is the type of situation fantasy managers dream about when they stash talented players. Toney has a history of injuries and enigmatic behavior, but he's proven himself to be an electric performer when on the field.
With Hardman out for at least four games and Smith-Schuster looking doubtful for Week 11, Toney has a legitimate chance to be a league-winning type of asset for those fantasy GMs lucky enough to have him on their rosters. He is a must-start WR against the Chargers this week.
