Kyler Murray Injury Update
Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said that quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) remains day-to-day, but Kingsbury reiterated that the team wants Murray to be able to run at full speed on the field before he returns. Murray was inactive in the Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Rams, and he'll have to show the coaching staff more if he wants to return in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers.
With the 25-year-old sidelined, veteran backup Colt McCoy started and led the team to a win, going 26-for-37 for 238 yards and a touchdown in his first action in 2022. We'll keep a close eye on Murray's practice status this week as he gets back to work on Wednesday. If he plays this weekend against a strong Niners defense, he'll be a low-end QB1 option in fantasy.
Josh Allen Injury Update
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey both said that quarterback Josh Allen (elbow) didn't have any throws that he was incapable of making in the Week 10 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings due to his right elbow sprain. Allen actually had his highest completion percentage (67.4 percent) in a game since Week 6 and his most passing yards (330) since Week 5.
The fifth-year QB did have two costly interceptions, but it sounds like he'll be fine physically heading into Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns. The Bills decided not to call any designed runs for Allen in order to further protect him, but he still racked up 84 yards on the ground on scrambles. Allen will remain a must-start, high-end QB1 in fantasy this week.
Matthew Stafford Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol as of Tuesday morning. Head coach Sean McVay has declined to say whether Stafford has been diagnosed with a concussion. Stafford wasn't cleared to play last Sunday. Backup John Wolford took over and threw for 212 yards, one touchdown and an interception on 36 pass attempts in the 27-17 loss.
We'll have a better idea of whether Stafford has a chance to play in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints once the team begins practicing on Wednesday. But Stafford will be off the QB1 radar in fantasy if he returns, considering the fact that top receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is now on Injured Reserve.
Aaron Rodgers Injury Update
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (thumb) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday after receiving a DNP on Monday. The 38-year-old is coming off an impressive performance against an explosive Dallas defense on Sunday, leading his team to a 31-28 overtime victory.
The former MVP has been under scrutiny amidst a 4-6 season but can still take his team to the playoffs because they are tied for the eighth-best record in the NFC. Rodgers has been managing the thumb issue for several weeks now and will take on the Titans Thursday night in what figures to be a competitive contest, facing another stout defense.
Ryan Tannehill Injury Update
Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle) was able to get in a full practice session on Tuesday. The 34-year-old is coming off a fairly strong game against the Denver Broncos last week. The fact he was able to practice on Tuesday means he should be fine for the upcoming Thursday night matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
The expectation is that Tannehill should be removed from the injury report on Wednesday's final report. Tannehill should be viewed as a mid-range QB2 for this upcoming matchup.
Carson Wentz Injury Update
Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz (finger) has not been cleared by the medical staff yet, according to head coach Ron Rivera. The 29-year-old is eligible to return after spending four weeks on the injured reserve. However, the team is in a tough spot with Taylor Heinicke leading them to three wins in their last four games.
The expectation is the team will give another update on Wentz this week. It doesn't sound like the team is in any rush to get Wentz back on the field.
PJ Walker Injury Update
Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker (ankle) has a high-ankle sprain, so Baker Mayfield will get the start in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. Sam Darnold will serve as Mayfield's backup. Walker apparently suffered the ankle sprain in last Thursday's win over the Atlanta Falcons, and he'll miss at least one week and likely more.
The Panthers don't have a timetable for his return, but we won't go on Injured Reserve. Mayfield came in to replace an ineffective Walker in Week 9 and went 14-for-20 for 155 yards and two touchdowns in garbage time, but he hasn't started a game since Week 5. The 27-year-old should give the Panthers offense more upside through the air, but he won't be anything more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in Week 11 against an improving Baltimore defense.
