This Saturday in the main event of UFC 302, former interim titleholder Dustin Poirier will have what is most likely his final chance at the promotion's lightweight title. He is set to face off against UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Poirier got back in the win column in his last fight by knocking out Benoit Saint-Denis back in March at UFC 299. Heading into this fight, Poirier is a sizeable underdog, as DraftKings has him at a salary of $6,700. In his UFC career, he's averaging 81.8 fantasy points per fight.

Former interim champions Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje clashed at UFC 291 inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday Poirier and Gaethje first met inside the Octagon back in 2018, with Poirier winning that fight via fourth-round TKO. Unfortunately for Poirier, things didn't go his way this time. Poirier performed well in the opening round against Gaethje, damaging Gaethje's left eye. In the second round, Gaethje surprised Poirier with a right high kick that slept Poirier up and secured Gaethje a lightweight title shot. In six minutes of action, Poirier landed 27 significant strikes. Poirier remains one of the top-ranked contenders in the lightweight division and is still just one or two big wins away from earning a third crack at undisputed UFC gold.
