2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) will be activated from Injured Reserve before the Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night. Mitchell led the Niners in rushing in 2021 as a rookie and entered the 2022 campaign as their lead back, but it didn't last long after he was injured in the season opener. Now with Christian McCaffrey as San Fran's leading rusher out of the backfield, Mitchell will be returning to a change-of-pace role, which will give him a very low fantasy ceiling and floor on a weekly basis. The 24-year-old went from being a must-start fantasy RB in Week 1 to basically only a handcuff option for CMC now. He shouldn't be trusted in starting lineups this weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
