Giants Extend Qualifying Offer To Joc Pederson
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants extended the $19.65 million qualifying offer to outfielder Joc Pederson on Thursday. The deal would be a big raise from the $6 million that he earned in 2022, so there's a good chance Pederson will accept the one-year deal from the Giants and return in 2023. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger was San Francisco's best hitter this season, slashing .274/.353/.521 with an .874 OPS, 23 home runs, 70 RBI, 57 runs scored and three stolen bases in 433 plate appearances over 134 games to earn his second career All-Star nod. Pederson's .274 batting average in 2022 was the highest of his career, while his 23 home runs were the fifth time that he's reached the 20-homer plateau in his nine-year career.
